Yesterday, I had the privilege of visiting this business. As a young black man (from ***), I have experienced downright racism before, but nothing like this. I had set an appointment for 4 p.m. I walked in with a young white couple for whom I held the door. Who was assisted as soon as they walked in. I however was instructed to sit and wait. I also saw another young woman (who arrived after I had been waiting) who came in for a test drive, which was completed. She returned and asked for another test drive while I still left waiting. While waiting, I was there for nearly an hour, during which I set a timer and was only greeted by the salesman with whom I made the appointment. I saw people come and go, all receiving service. I, however, was never helped; I just left there waiting.Upon storming out, I was greeted by a man who claimed to be the owner, who sensed my frustrations and offered to help me. I told him that he could not help me because clearly this business was either unwilling to assist non-white customers as a whole or maybe they were stereotyping me and assumpted that I was looking rather than buying, which is rather unfortunate because I went there with the full intention of purchasing a vehicle. In closing, as a young black man, I warn other non-white consumers to approach this business cautiously and perhaps consider other alternatives altogether. But if you choose to visit there, I hope you are treated better than I was. Good luck and ************!
