Back in 2018, I stopped paying on a credit card as a result of job instability and strain in working with Georgias Own Credit Union. The card was ruled as a charge off. Someone named April attempted to contact me but I requested that they stop. For the past two to three years Ive not been contacted nor have I been in a position to pay anyone. Ive had an eviction in 2019, two federal employment cases I can provide Orders on both cases in USDC NCWD 3:19CV00459 and 3:21CV00258.Feb 2, ****, Director of Payment Recovery called me for the first time ever in 3 years from *************************** and I explained to her that my student loans have not been paid in the same amount of time, Ive had two federal cases be dismissed where the defendants didnt feel they owed any relief for the actions taken against me, Ive sent several Cease and Desist and the game theyre playing just caused my credit score to drop 50 points, and Im ready to take legal action against them. They were also made aware of the **** case against them.Georgias Own had been a $0 delinquency being reported monthly for over a year and I had not paid attention. After disputed, GAs Own went back and added the full debt between $5,000-6,000.The actions Georgias Own recently took caused for a denial for a personal loan to consolidate my current debts. I had been pre-approved and on Feb 2 they ran my application randomly and my credit score had fallen significantly. This is when I learned that my credit had dropped from a 720 to 673. I had built my credit back up since 2018. Georgias Own Credit Union has continued to harass me and access my credit files over a 3 year time frame. Im in the *********************** and the contract is null and void after the employees of the credit union failed to provide an accurate account for my funds housed there, renumbered accounts, inability to access the online portal after being locked out by staff, staff not acknowledging the member upon calBusiness response

I spoke with ************* #****** ****** services manager on 1/31/22. I was contacted by ***** from because of a request that initiated early in the day. Previously, I was working with **************************** who I connected with on or before 1/19/2022. The reason for reaching out was because I have received 4 Overdraft protection fees from the bank. I received an Overdraft Fee in the amount of $35 on 1/19/2022. I expressed that this charge was in error by the merchant. I was instructed by ***** to reach out to the merchant via email and copy her on the communication as proof that the transaction was in error. After doing so, ***** only credited one $35 ** fee out of four that were incurred. I reached back out to ***** via email to remind her that there were three additional ** fees that were incurred because of the initial transaction. ***** promised to investigate it and call me back. I have not received a call back from *****, so I called GAs Own on 1/31/22. I explained to ***** that I was perplexed as to how and why I was receiving these charges. ***** explained that the ** fee information is on the member services agreement. I followed up with the confusion I was having around getting different information from different representatives each time I ask about how and why these fees are being incurred on my account? I also explained why I received confliction information justifying the ** fees on my account. I asked ***** if there were a manger in a department higher that I can speak to in regarding my concerns? ***** ensured me that there was no one else that can help me with my issues and concerns.GAs Own Credit Union has charged me a total of $140, $35 which had been refunded in fees leaving me $105 short on funds, that were incurred unfairly. GAs Own Federal Credit Unions Overdraft Fees appear to be unethical in practice and inconsistence in its own banking policy.Business response

I have made on time payments for my **** (verified by Navy Federal CU) and Georgia's Own has consistently reported as "late payments" to all 3 credit bureaus which had SERIOUS impacts. They have already removed one late payment notice and reversed the $37 late payment (not the interest fee). I still need them to correct 9/2021, 10/2021 and 11/2021 in addition to reversing the late fee AND interest associated with them. Furthermore, I have been trying to get all of the above corrected and have been transferred 5 TIMES and ended up at the original department from my initial call. No one want's to assist or even talk to me about the issue. Filing a complaint here is my last resort next to filing with Fair Credit Reporting Act. I feel as though GA's Own doesn't want to make this right. I'm not going to just let this remain as I have consumer rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act such as suing if they don't correct this inaccuracy and refund me the late fees and interest fees.Business response

September 2021 statement from Georgia's Own Credit Union in ****** **. reflected $2005.00, my December Statement said that my account had been closed (account no. *********. After lots of on hold time I finally got word from a supervisor that my account had been closed because of inactivity, she said a letter was mailed (not certified mail) and that was the only attempt to contact me. We had quite a conversation and her final response was "I don't have your money and I can't help you". I trusted Georgia's Own with my hard earned money and now it's gone.Business response

Thank you for giving Georgias Own Credit Union the opportunity to respond. Georgias Own Credit Union takes these matters seriously and welcomes the opportunity to improve upon our service.Accordingly, an investigation into the matter was conducted upon notification of the complaint. The investigation concluded that the member had been mailed notification that due to his account being dormant the Credit Union would be required to escheat the funds to the state.
***************** has been in contact with our ************** Team and our ***************** Manager, we have explained how to recover the funds from the State of Georgia. I am rejecting this response because: I did not receive notice from Georgia's Own and they charged me $60.00 to close my account. Banking ethics require a diligent effort to contact someone before escheating an account.i recovered my money from the state but I will not stop the pursuit until I get $60.00 from Georgia's Own. That was money I trusted the credit union with and they simply took it from me. They say that a letter was sent, I say that I never got a letter, common sense would say that if I did get a letter I would surely respond to preserve my account. Also Georgia's Own has never contacted me through this entire process.

This is the second time that Ive had to contact this bank in order to stop fraudulent charges on my card. My card is only for my house bills, and every month reflects basically the same charges. This happened in September 2021 and they charged me five dollars for a new card even though I physically had the card. Now it has happened again and I have to re-freeze my account. Something is wrong with their internal system asked to I should not be hacked two times in less than a year with the same bank. This does not happen with any of my other bank accounts. I am rejecting this response because it has almost been a month and I still have yet to be contacted. Yes, provisional funds were put back into my account, but no conversation otherwise. While I was waiting to be informed of what was happening, I managed to track down the receipts of the Square payments, reached out to Square to specifically ask how their platform works when they don't have the card and how to proceed. They informed me that the card was manually entered which is odd because I physically have the card. Additionally, you are able to see the transaction history and the exact same charges hit every month. Nothing changes (aside from Poop911 which was cancelled when I was compromised the first time). This card was never used outside of bills for my home, so there is no way that I encountered a skimmer at a business. Which leads me to believe that this incident is internal. Logically, if one were a thief and wanted to steal my card information, they would steal my entire wallet (containing countless other cards) from my purse. Not take the time out of their day to take a picture of my card. Sounds crazy, but none of my other cards with other institutions were compromised. Only Georgia's Own. With this happening 2 times within a 6 month span, means there is a breach somewhere and your customers are at risk.To make matters worse, the individual who racked up fraudulent purchases on my account, also opened a Business Debit Card with Square. This was sent to my house last week. And when I called Square, they were unable to provide me with the details of the business checking account that it was tied to. Now I have to deal with MORE unnecessary phone calls and added stress because my information was compromised.
Unfortunate part of all of this is that I trusted Ga's Own with my money. And now I have been breached twice, which no explanation as to why it has happened (your reps do not care... aside from ***** as she was so helpful the entire time), am wasting countless time calling Square/Ga's Own about MY MONEY, and still nervous as to when its going to happen again. Which shouldn't even be a concern!!

I had a checkign account with this bank. It the time I was not using the account often and did not have deposits going into the account due to being laid off. I unforutnitly had a recuring charge of a gym membership on that account. I called Georgias Own to have the overdraft fees resolved. In the first call they told me that they could not help due to my personal loan being late but once it is paid they will resolve the issue. I paid that as soon as possible and throught they resolved it. I called back and learn that they did not resolve it and I needed to wait until the payment for my personal loan was posted. By the time the payment posted, they charged of the checking account and when I called about that, a different customer service rep. informed me that I didnt have to wait until tje payment posted and I could have given them the tracking number.I am frustrated becuase I have tried to get this reolved and I got different responses everytime. I would like to not pay the fees.Also, a rep told me that someone would contact me and it has been two weeks since I have not heard from anyone.Business response

I order a ** using my credit card points. The ** arrived but it is not new it is missing parts such as power cord, part of the tv stand, tv remote and owners manual. I have complained to georgia's own credit union but nothing has been done to pick up the tv or to send a replacement it has been almost a month.Business response
