I came to this dealership with looking to finance a 2012 *** terrain listed at $9938. I was told by ***** R that I could get financing through their banks/ ************ and it would be one hard inquiry(that was a lie, it was four hard inquiries done on my credit) she told me that their banks work with people who have lower credit scores and I was even willing to put money down. After waiting for about 30 minutes I was told that I would only get a vehicle with a cosigner, I dont have lots of debt and I have paid off my car last year two years early so I asked if I could put more money down, I was advised by the manager ****** that the banks may not be willing to take a chance on you because your young and you dont have a lot of credit history (which is considered age discrimination under the Equal credit Opportunity Act) but I since that wasnt the official reason why I needed a cosigner he had another financing agent name ***** **** me and tell me that they would give me a car loan by myself but I had to put $4000 down because of my credit. I asked him why, he said it was because the equity of the car was based of my credit score (another lie told) the equity of the car is not there because the value of the car based on the ***** blue book site is $7955 and they have the car listed well above that. So for them to have these extremely shady business practices I think this needs to be looked at and investigated. Car dealerships should be pricing their cars based off the market value if they are not doing that than what protections do we as the consumers have for not being ripped off and taken advantage of by these dealerships and banks. That is shady business and you should want no parts of it.
