Our Kitten needed to be seen regarding a very large open wound. It was a Sunday and we called ahead to let them know we were coming and what the situation was. Waited for approx. 7 hours before our kitten was taken back and seen by a Dr. We were triaged within an hour or 2 of being there. During Triage I tried to explain that the wound wasn't visible inside the carrier especially since she is a fluffy cat. I was treated like I was overreacting. When finally seen the staff member was upset that the wound seemed to be infected and was condescending making me feel as though it was my fault it had gotten to that point, when we had brought her first thing after it had been noticed & we had been waiting just in the waiting room for hours. Finally she gets taken in to be seen and they clean out the wound and the area around it & have tie over bandage due to the large size of the wound and the infection that was in it. Which was fine, I was happy to have her treated and on the right track than we had to bring her in every other day to get the bandage replaced for about a week each time costing hundreds of dollars. Last ditch effort they stitched her up with less than 20 stiches and the cone they had put on our cat was too small and she was able to get to her wound which they were upset at us about it when we brought her back for that reason. They than cut tissue that had become necrotic and made the wound bigger and kept open-told us we were to keep it clean until we could get our kitten into surgery for a tissue replacement/graph since it was "now the only option". This was very upsetting considering we had just spent $2000.00 for what we thought were steps to a solution. We brought our cat to a local vet and they stitched her up (50 stiches) and sent her home and she has been great ever since. I understand that they are a busy place and I am thankful they are there for emergencies but feel we were taken advantage of. There is much more but out of writing space.
