I called them at 614-963-3363 on Monday the 7th. I have an '07 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I made an appt with a dealership, but they told me I could get a locksmith to do it. I googled a locksmith. I called and asked them too do it. They said they could. then a half hour later, they said they couldn't to go to a dealer. Then they called a third time to say they were on their way to do it. They did not give me a quote, or a price or tell me there would be a service fee for the visit.
A locksmith showed up in a white conversion van. He said his name was Mike. he said it would cost $300. He said a dealership would charge me $1000. Two minutes later he starts the car and asks for payment. I told him there was no way he programmmed the key that quickly. he balled up his fist with the key in it, and refused to give me the key. I gave him three one hundred dollar bills. I asked for a receipt. he said he left the receipt book in his other car. He took the money and jumped in his car and left.
He just bypassed something. Now all of the lights are on.
I kept my appintment with the dealer. The dealer said the computer is not exactly the kind I need, so they were unable to program the key. they asked for $200, but I declined to pay.
The dealer said the locksmith knew the key could not be programmed.
