Two lawn application services were performed in March 27, 2023 and April 26, 2023.In April 2023, I notified the Green Lawn professional that I did not renew service for 2023. I had received several postal mail prior to March 2023 for renewal offers and did not sign up for. Apparently, in March 2023, after the first application, that same person had handed the service summary to "someone" who opened the front door and that means that I agree to renew the service for 2023. I clarified that person who opened the door was not me and he agreed to that as well. He told me that he would notify of the request to cancel service.On May 2nd, I answered their call re: past due balance and I also explained my conversation with the person at my home on April 26th to cancel the service. Shortly after speaking to that person on the phone, I received an email on May 2nd to collect on "past due balance". See attachment including my reply.Furthermore, my wife had mentioned that she had actually cancelled the service in 2022 around the 5th or 6th application but she was told that the 2022 service was 100% prepaid and we had to continue the service.Since May 2nd, on several occasions, I have received calls and voicemails to collect despite having attempted to cancel in 2022; notifying the person to cancel who performed the service on April 26; spoken on the phone on May 2nd; and replied to the collection email. I apologize for the lack of communication. Our customer service manager, *******, tried calling you twice but was unable to get a hold of the customer. We have cleared the balance owed and cancelled the account. We hope this resolution is sufficient.Customer response

Initially was contacted by ***** ****** late August and signed up for Aeration/Seeding/Weed Treatment Fall program which he indicated would be approximately $7xx. They indicated they would be there early fall as the ground needs to be the proper temperature for germination/fertilizing, and had my appointments cancelled twice to the point where when they finally performed the aeration/seeding, the ground was nearly frozen. I was told they would readdress the issue in the spring given there was little to any growth. I called in February giving them adequate time to schedule me in so they would go on site when the grounds were appropriate temps. Little did I know, they decided to charge me in March and April an additional $63.xx for services I never agreed to, and of course, they waited when it was too hot to perform the aeration and seeding. My lawn still looks bad, and I'm out north of $8xx after they charged me for services I never agreed to, and provided services that certainly did not achieve the results they indicated would by seen.Business response

I am rejecting this response because: I was refunded only the service charges they should have never charged in the first place (approximately $128) which I filed a chargeback with my credit card, so not due to any effort by them.Their "retention" guy spoke to me, indicated they would stop by the property which of course never happened. I'm still out well over $700 and my lawn looks like it was never serviced to begin with.

Account number: ******* I paid for this service on an annual basis for one year last year in 2022. I told the company at the time I did not want to renew my service. I also called before the season started this yea and asked them not to renew. They came out and provided a service at a house. I no longer lived in and are now charging me $78 for that service. I have made three phone calls and sent three emails. I have not been able to resolve this issue and I am never able to speak to a manager at this company to help me Resolve this issue. I never asked to renew my service and I canceled twice yet. This company still providing me with a service I did not approve and canceled last year yet they are still insisting I owe them money. They are now threatening to turn me into a collection agency. Are you able to assist me in resolving this issue?Business response

I used Green Lawn Fertilizing from 2016 to Present. My first experience was fine, the grass was looking ok. During last year their service completely degrated. I started getting a large amount of weeds and bare patches in my lawn. I called them numerous times and they stated they would send someone out for an additional service, but my lawn still looking terrible. I called them on May 3rd, 2023 and requested the call from manager so we can discuss what Green Lawn will do to remedy this situation. I was told that the manager will call me ASAP, nobody did. On May 4th I called again and was promised to be contacted. I was not contacted as of today. Green Lawn needs to stand up to their commitments and remediate the problem with my loan, preferably using another company.Business response

Our Operations Manager, ***** spoke to the customer who voiced frustration with our service and results. ***** agreed to refund round 1 and write off round 2 applications this year as well as the last application from last year. ***** also offered the customer the opportunity for us to rectify his issues and concerns but he was not interested.Customer response

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THESE PEOPLE TO REMOVE MY NAME AND ADDRESS FROM THEIR MAILING LIST FOR YEARS!!! EVERY SPRING AND INTO SUMMER, I GET INUNDATED WITH THEIR JUNK MAIL WHICH I DO NOT WANT EVER!!! THEY HAVE REFUSED TO REMOVE MY NAME AND ADDRESS FROM THEIR MAILING LIST. THEY ARE PAYING A MARKETING COMPANY TO HOUND ME WITH THEIR CRAP AS THE POSTMARK ON THEIR JUNK MAIL IS MANCHESTER, NH. I WANT THESE PEOPLE TO CONTACT THIS MARKETING COMPANY AND TELL THEM TO REMOVE MY NAME AND ADDRESS FROM THEIR MAILING AND I WANT THE JUNK MAIL I AM RECEIVING FROM THESE PEOPLE TO STOP NOW!! The company in New Hampshire is my mail house that prints and ships our mail but I work locally in West Chester, PA and manage our direct mail list internally. On 11/28/2022, we went outside to our front yard and found a sign stuck in our grass from "Green Lawn Fertilizing" indicating they had just fertilized our grass. We never heard of this company let alone contracted services from this company. The sign they left says "Thank you for choosing Green Lawn Fertilizing, we were here today to service your lawn. Please stay off lawn until dry and see specific instructions on your invoice". Clearly this company is a scam and uses fraudulent and unethical practices in an attempt to market their company and extract money from unsuspecting homeowners by trespassing on their property, using chemicals on their lawns without permission, and then fraudulently invoicing them. I contacted this company on 11/30/2022 to complain about what happened and they used the same excuses that are used throughout all the other complaints reported to BBB. They indicated that they do not have an active account with my address or phone number, and said the person treating the lawns must have inadvertently gone to the wrong home and treated the wrong lawn. I asked them if they had anyone in their system with the name of my street, and they indicated they did not. Therefore, there was no way they could treat the wrong lawn, and even if they did, this is not an excusable offense and is unacceptable. I then let them know if I find out later that they damaged my lawn, I will sue them in court for trespassing and for damages related to my lawn, as well as damages related to physical harm to my family, due to the chemicals used.Business response

The practice of servicing a noncustomer and then soliciting payment is not a business practice we have ever used nor would ever use, as this is completely unethical. As for the sign in **** ******’s lawn, we have completed due diligence and reviewed our customer base as well as our fleet monitoring software to determine if this property was serviced in error. On Monday November 28th we had no service vehicles in Middletown Delaware. The last time we serviced that area of Delaware was a week earlier on Monday November 21st . On Monday November 21st we performed a potassium application to a customer located at **** ***** ******* **** Middletown, DE ***** which is located within **** ******s neighborhood. The fleet monitoring software displays the vehicle parked at this address; and we don’t believe **** ******’s lawn was completed in error. The application applied to **** ***** ******* ****, as mentioned earlier was potassium, an essential lawn nutrient and not a chemical.

Green Lawn Fertilizing came and over-treated my property. My yard has an infinite number of large dead spots. It's horrible. I called them and they said they'd send management out and would remedy the mistake. Management stood me up. They sent a tech instead to take pics. I was never contacted after that. My lawn in the front looks awful. In back, its worse. They don't return my calls yet I'm repeatedly contacted for payment. What crooks! At this point I don't want them to fix it. Just stop asking me to pay them for destroying my lawn.Business response

I had contacted Green Lawn Fertilizing about potentially having them treat my lawn. I initially chose another company for the service instead. They followed up with me later, and I said I'd consider using them for the next service. Later on in May, they call me asking me to pay $91.63 for service they allegedly performed in early April. I was not aware that they came to my property and did not leave anything to indicate that they were here. Not to mention, after these type of treatments, people are supposed to stay off of the lawn for 24 hours. My 6 year old daughter is always playing in the yard, and I never even knew that this company came and sprayed chemicals in my yard. Now they've called me three times asking me to pay, and they just ignore my explanation that I never agreed to any service. They don't apologize either, they just ask me to pay half the amount. I refuse to pay anything for lawn treatment that I never agreed to.Business response

I paid for a lawn service last year with a credit card over the phone for the service. They performed the service but was not up to par. They neglected to tell me that the service was automatically renewed over the phone, if they had I would not have agreed to it instantly. One of the requirements I specifically stated last year that I must get a phone call prior to anyone coming to my house. So this year I never agreed to them to come out , never received a phone call that someone was coming out, and they raised the price of the service without notice. They keep harassing me about making a payment, but I refuse because I did not what the service this year as it did not do anything to improve my lawn. Im not even sure how they would know if I still lived there with out calling me. I am seeking help to have them stop harassing me and to protect other people from this happening. As the Director of Marketing for Green Lawn Fertilizing I would like to apologize to Mr. This was my mistake in my list process. This is not an excuse but rather an explanation, because it is not as straightforward as removing him from our list. He is 100% removed from our mailing list in our system.
The problem stems from the fact that I buy new lists fresh every single year from a 3rd party company. I send that list company a suppression file which contains our customers, previous cancels and estimates for them to not include those homes, but the people who like Mr. were on the direct mail list last year and asked to be removed without being a lead are only a handful in number. I forgot about that handful when I pulled my suppression list for which I sincerely apologize. I made a note for myself to not forget to do this again next year. Again I sincerely apologize for my error.
