“Eva’s Garden Outdoor Services” is NOT a company I would recommend because it cannot be depended on to finish a project and their crew was anything but enthusiastic about working when supervision was not around. The first day they were more than 3 hours late, so I called the owner and asked if they were going to work that day or not and why I didn’t get a phone call advising me about any problems he might be having. He said they noticed a broken hydraulic line while loading the jackhammer, so they had to build a new one. I said that I understand mechanical failures, but I didn’t understand not making me aware of the problem. Shortly after demolition started, the owner left the crew. No sooner had the owner left, the crew stopped working, the operator leaned bake with his hat over his face as though to take a nap. With my frustration with the day's events being heightened, I went out and asked if the machine had broken again. They indicated that it was not and shortly after started demolition again. The owner returned and took the dumpster of concrete to wherever he unloads it and returned about 3:00pm, picked up his crew and left for the day. The second day they were about 2 hours late with no explanation and continued to do the demolition until midafternoon. Later that evening I received a text from the owner stating that because I had been rude to his crew that it was best that he “resign” the contract and for me to find another contractor to finish the job. My wife had set out brownies for the crew both days, so other than asking questions that any client would need to ask, I don’t see how we had been rude to his crew. The next day I met the owner after explaining the work ethic of his crew and he did refund the balance of the contract minus the demolition cost. Fortunately, I was able to find a qualified and dependable contractor who has done an excellent job, even completing the portion of the demolition the original contractor failed to do.

Mr *******, We apologize for any inconvenience caused. However I´d like to describe the facts as it really happened: 1.- according with our contract, the starting date should have been on Wednesday May 15th. Due to the bad weather one of our customer decided to push back his project one week more and we decided to call you Tuesday morning about 8am to ask you if would you want us to start your project the same day of Tuesday instead of wednesday. So you called me back with your approval. Therefore, we had to prepare all our equipment, tools, machinaty, etc. to start the project. Technicaly we had one day or half day advanced. On other hand, as I know, you were not paying us by hour, but for a complete project. We were not your subcontactors, but a company to fulfill a project and the ESTIMATED time of accomplished was about 3 days...IF the weather permits. The problem here was that you had the feeling we were your subcontractors and tried to monitor also the time we wanted to go to the restroom. You counted how many times our guys took a bottle of water and went to the portable potty or if a technical inconvenience happened. 2.- Our workers reported that ms Pringle was very rude with them asking them why they were not working in my abscene. And the answer is simply. and this is for all the ones reading this response: We spend one day to break all the concrete driveway, th second day was to haul it off. So basically, all that we have to do is use our skid to load out dump trailer and the dirver had to dump the debris and come back for another load and so on. All Our crew had to do is to make sure the existing sidewalk and grass was not damaged with the concrete debris. The rest of the task had to be done by the skid steer. So they have to wait until the dump trailer come back for the next load. Regarding, our " Time Off" ( we didnt know we had to report 10 hours labor). remeber the first day we dedicated it to break the concrete and the concrete disposal centers close around 4pm. So we wouldnt have enough time to dump the first load. So we decided to start the next day with the hauling off. After mrs Pringle was yelling to our guys, we decided to not continue with our cotract. Rregarding the cookies, we appreciate your kidness, but per our contract, we dont accept any type of tip or gratification to our workers. Our point of view is that you had the perception that we were your SUBcontractors with a dead line date, with working hours to accomplish and a check in and check out employees card. Which in our contact wemnever estipulated we were going to be paid by our. as we said, we apogize for any inconvenience this may caused.
