            On April 4, 2024, Import Auto Salvage came to the attention of BBB. At that time a consumer contacted the BBB regarding a Cash App payment of $1,500.00 sent to a "Jade Hicks" for the purchase of a car from Import Auto Salvage. The consumer never received the vehicle or a refund and was contacted to send additional payments via Cash App and a scam site for transportation and freight insurance. BBB does not have sufficient information on this business. BBB made multiple requests from the business. BBB has not received a response from this business and/or has not been able to verify information received from this business.


            On April 11, 2024, BBB discovered Import Auto Salvage utilizes Facebook for consumer sales and interactions. Their Facebook was created on 06/22/2021  and is NOT registered in West Virginia. The website uses stock photos/stolen photos from other sellers to represent its inventory. On May 7, 2024, BBB requested the following data to Import Auto Salvage: 

            Physical Location
            Preferred method of contact (mail, fax or email) 
            A brief description of the products or services the company offers, how they are obtained and sources of images listed on the Facebook
            Proof of Licensing/Registrations and in what states
            Information on how and where the company advertises 
            Information on how payment is sent/accepted


            BBB also requested any additional information that would enable BBB to better understand their business. As of May, 07, 2024, BBB has not received a response.

            On 3/30/24 I agreed to the purchase of a 67 GTO for $7,000 dollars. Contact was made through ******** through their page called Import Auto Salvage. I only agreed to pay them $1500 dollars and then would pay the remainder upon delivery. This $1500 dollars was also to ensure delivery and good title. Once payment had been made of the $1500 dollars through cash app to **** ***** **************  I then received an email and correspondence requiring an additional $1000 dollar refundable deposit through the transportation agency website ********************* (NOT the reputable company ********************* phone number************* They called this a Refundable Freight Shipping Insurance. They requested payment through a **** *** ** ****** **************. Since I had already paid only a portion and there was no title transfer this obligation was on the person shipping and this was obviously a fake company even though they provided a tracking number for the shipment. (Tracking number: *******************. I requested a refund of my $1500 dollars via the **** *** and by phone. Those requests were denied.
